Penang Kau Ong Ia Celebration is celebrated on the 1st to nineth day of nineth month of Chinese Lunar calendar. During these nine days, devotees will take vegetable food only. On the day before the 1st day of 9th month chinese calendar, they will 'invite' the gods from the sea to their temples. On the nineth day itself, some of them might send the nine emperors back to sea.

Frankly speaking, I do not know much about his except this is a month where people/devotees take vegetarian food only. The left 1st row photo shows one of the famous 'food' that is sold during this time only. The right top photo shows the offerings that devotees donated to the temple.

Depending on the events organised by the temples, some temples will have procession along their area on one of the nine days. The float on the left 2nd row photo was taken during a procession on the 4th day of the month by a temple. The right 2nd row photo shows a loh chia kong doing his 'work'.

The rest of the photos were taken during the sending of the nine emperor back to sea. The left 3rd row photo shows 2 gods that were taken with the other 'floats' for the sending-off procession. The last 2 photos show the boat that were sent out to sea. The right last row photo shows the boat already floating on the sea.
