Penang Koay Chiap (Chinese)
Koay Chiap is made from rice. Unlike hor fun, bihun and koay teow, it is 'wet' type which is more like soft broth (in Cantonese, they call it, 'choke', I think) but in peices. I guess the soup is boiled with duck and some sauces for the 'lor' taste.
The ingredients are duck meat (from the soup), pig's small and big intestine, duck blood, tau kua and egg. This dish / food is consider special because it is rarely found. The place to get this is at New Cathay coffee shop in Pulau Tikus area. One bowl is about RM3.00.
